🚀 My Dream Project: Building a Multi-Purpose Smart Robot & GPS-Guided Bus (Since 2023)

Introduction

Hi everyone! I’m Mohammed Amhar, a young inventor and robotics enthusiast from Sri Lanka.
Since 2023, I’ve been working on a Multi-Purpose Smart Robot and GPS-Guided Autonomous Bus — a project that combines robotics, GPS navigation, automation, and IoT.

This project has grown from a small idea into a dual-mode robot with autonomous navigation and joystick control, designed to inspire innovation in Sri Lanka.

🤖 Project Overview

My robot works in two modes:

🚗 Mode 1 — Autonomous GPS Navigation

The robot moves automatically using GPS waypoints, entered via a custom ESP32 web server interface. It can:

  • Avoid obstacles with smart sensors

  • Sound a buzzer horn while avoiding obstacles

  • Show animated real-time movement on a web interface

🎮 Mode 2 — Manual Control & Auto Docking

With a Magic bit joystick controller, I can manually drive the robot. It also has IR sensors for auto-charging, guiding the robot to its charging dock automatically when needed.

💔 Challenges & Urgent Needs

Even though I’ve made significant progress, the project faces some serious challenges:

  • Damaged components due to power issues

  • GPS module unable to connect to satellites properly, needing replacement

  • Motors for speed and performance need upgrading

  • Additional parts and ideas must be added to complete the final prototype

  • High costs of electronics and parts in Sri Lanka, making it impossible for me to finish without support

I’ve been self-funding this project since 2023, but now I urgently need help to replace damaged components, upgrade parts, and finalize the complete project.
